Paragraph End-Weight

Flags paragraphs that end on weak, low-energy words like prepositions or pronouns instead of strong nouns or verbs.

What It Does

Examines the very last token of each paragraph. Flags if it's a preposition, determiner, particle, personal pronoun, or other function word.

Why It Matters

Paragraphs are rhythmic units. The final word carries disproportionate weight — it's the last thing the reader processes before pausing. Ending on a content-rich noun or active verb creates a satisfying rhythmic landing. Ending on "at," "to," "it," or "with" creates a fizzle.

What Gets Flagged

Severity Example Why Suggested Revision
Hint "...the painting she had been staring at." Ends on preposition "at" "...the painting that held her gaze."

Configuration

No configuration options. Skips paragraphs shorter than 10 words.
