Sentence & Rhythm
Echoed Sentence Structure
Flags consecutive sentences that follow the same grammatical pattern (Subject-Verb-Object monotony).
What It Does
Classifies each sentence's opening structure into patterns (pronoun+verb, name+verb, article+noun+verb) and detects runs of 4+ sentences with the same pattern.
Why It Matters
Even when individual sentences are well-crafted, repeating the same structure creates a monotonous reading experience. "She did X. She did Y. She did Z." reads like a list, not a story.
What Gets Flagged
| Severity | Example | Why | Suggested Revision |
|---|---|---|---|
| Information | "She walked… She opened… She looked… She stepped…" | 4+ pronoun+verb openings | "She walked to the door. The handle was cold. With a twist, it opened." |
Configuration
No configuration options. Threshold: 4 consecutive same-pattern sentences.
